First, take a t-shirt in that size which you would like your hoody to be and use it like a pattern. Then also take a big size sweatshirt fabric. After that, fold its sleeves to backward and put the body of the t-shirt over your sweatshirt fabric. Start cutting around the t-shirt same like the pattern of sweatshirt fabric piece. Then add almost 5/8 inch seam to the shoulder sides which is the back piece of the hoody.

Start folding the back piece till half and then place it over a double layer of sweatshirt fabric just like a pattern piece. After that, cut two by adding one inch to the straight side as a seam allowance. Now, you definitely have two opposite front pieces. Put the sleeve of the t-shirt on a double layer of sweatshirt fabric which is folded. With the help of fabric pencil, increase the line of the sleeve as more as you want. Like before, add 5/8 inch seam also to the bottom as well as armhole and a 1/2 inch hem to the wrist side. After that, Cut out the sleeve and put this on another folded double layer of fabric to make the remaining second sleeve.

Start sewing the front two pieces to the back, means at the shoulders side and press the seams. The body pieces which you have, open them and line up armholes of your sleeves with their sides. After that, stitch the sleeves to their armholes and press their seams. Find out the measurement of the bottom of sleeves and cut two bands of any knit fabric in this length. Stitch this knit fabric to the bottom of the sleeves and press the seam. Also, stitch the back and front sides of the sleeves and body together at the side seams and then press the seams. Find out the measurement of the distance around the bottom of the body and cut this length of knit fabric to use as a band around the bottom.

After that, stitch this band to the bottom with pressing the seam. Start folding extra one inch on each front center. Put the zipper to the front center of hoody and stitch it in place. Find out the distance around neckline and then make half of a hood in any form you want from a double layer of fabric. Cut out this hood so that you have two halves. Repeat this with a double layer of lining fabric. Stitch your  hood up on the back side in your sweatshirt fabric as well as in the lining fabric. Attach this lining with your hood by stitching them together around that side of fabric where face openings exist. Then turn the hood to the right side and stitch the neck to the neckline of the body. Your own made zip up hoody is ready. Use it in winter to keep yourself warm.
